About the Giant Mountains

The Giant Mountains (Czech: Krkonoše) are a national park in the north-east of the Czech Republic, on the border with Poland.

Krkonoše National Park

Hiking trail to Sněžka, the highest mountain in the Czech Republic

It is the country’s highest mountain range, with Sněžka (1,602 metres above sea level) as its highest peak, covered in snow 200 days a year. From these mountains you regularly enjoy magnificent panoramic views. The Czech-Polish Friendship Trail follows much of the main ridge and is 30 km long in total. The nature of the Giant Mountains has a Scandinavian feel. More information about the Giant Mountains can be found on the official website of the national park.

We have developed several hut-to-hut treks right across the Giant Mountains. We also offer a family holiday in Špindlerův Mlýn and Harrachov, packed with active outings for the whole family.

Sněžka, 1,602 m

The highest mountain in the Czech Republic, covered in snow some 200 days a year.

Ridge trail

The Czech-Polish Friendship Trail follows the main ridge for 30 km, with panoramic views.

Hut to hut

Our hut-to-hut treks cross the national park; families can stay in Špindlerův Mlýn or Harrachov.

Our tip: On your way up Sněžka, walk through Obří důl (Giant's Valley), one of the most beautiful valleys in the whole range. Want to shorten the climb? Take the cable car from Pec pod Sněžkou.
