PTTK Strzecha Akademicka Shelter
Welcome to the PTTK Strzecha Akademicka Shelter
The shelter is located on an ancient trail leading to the highest peak of the Karkonosze Mountains – Śnieżka.
The second largest shelter in the Polish Karkonosze Mountains, located in the middle of Złotówka, a wide, forestless ridge separating Kocioł Mały Staw from Biały Jar, at an altitude of 1,258 m. At the shelter, the main junction of summer and winter trails in this area. Zimna Łąka on Złotówka is a good ski field. At the shelter there is a drag lift and the “Złotówka” ski slope. The current hotel building was completed in 1907. The name “Strzecha Akademicka”, which is still used today, was created in the first years after World War II, when the facility was owned by students of Krakow universities.
